Ph2 exhaust on a Ph1???

  Ph1 Flamer
Just got myself a great looking black Ph1, 50k, FSH, spotless!!, well chuffed!!

The only problem with the car is the exhaust, it's massive, ugly and deafening me on the daily commute!

The previous owner has replaced the standard system with a stainless (from the cat back) system.

I'm looking at changing back to standard or getting a stainless stealth. So i've had a dig about on Ebay and found quite a few systems, but they're all off Ph2's.

So the big question is... Will a Ph2 (from the cat back) system fit on a Ph1?

P.s. If anyone has an exhaust for sale, i'm in the market for one!!

Cheers.

Unfortunatly not, the 172mk1 has a shorter cat so the centre section is longer. If your fitting an exhaust from a 172mk2 youll need a matching cat too.

Ph2 designed decat fits a ph1 so i reckon it could fit with a bit of adjusting all the way along the system.

At your risk tho so probably not worth trying

A ph2 decat will be fine. It will make it all fit nicely. You just need to fill the 2nd lambda sensor hole on the decat if your ph1 only has 1 sensor (some have 2 anyway).

This exhaust is starting to send me doolally!!!

Got so bad, i've been around to the local stealer for a quote on a genuine system.

Bargain!!!! £350 fitted, that's with a 15% discount.

I'm getting that desperate i'm even conisidering it!!

£350 is not too bad. The parts alone work themselves out to be just over £300. Its not hard to fit yourself, it all bolts on like a mechano kit, no welding involved.

I fitted mine myself as I wanted to modify it first to make it last longer.
