Phase 2 bump strips on phase 1

The clips are different as I expected so does anyone know:

1) if i can order them from reno and part no. if poss

2) how the hell do they come out of the door?

3) is there any easier way to make them fit before I pull my mums off her phase 3 clio and use them?

if you take the door card off they are clipped in with white clips, i dont know if you have to break them to get them off, 100% sure they fit as Paul Mitchell has them on the phase 1 he is selling!

When i took the side strips off my phase 2 RT, it had white clips in.

After much faffing about, i found out you could just grab them from the outside, twist them 90 degrees and they pull straight out!

You might break a couple when you pull the strip off the side though.

um, you dont need to take the doorcard off.

Take out the screw holding them in at the end.

Then push them sideways and they will slip off the clips, then slip on the new strips.

Ive got Phase 2 bump strips on my Phase 1, fit straight on if you get a few of the clips from Renault. The old ones twist out, but inside the door is a plastic cap, take that out and there will be a torx screw holding a big clip, dont think you can get a new one for the phase 2 bump strips but I reckon a torx screw and a washer will do the trick.

Ben problem is the clips are too small on the phase 1, i looked at my mums and hers are thicker and clip into the strips properly.

Sweeney do you mean a screw holding the actual bump strip on. just one at the end. if so iv found this bit and got the old ones off but they just font fit.

Think ill ring renault in a minute!

Lo Craig yeah there is a screw that screws into a very small square clip to stop the bump strips from sliding forwards or backwards, I reckon a torx screw with a washer will do the same job. Its all very good having the clips to snap the strips on but they can be slid off without the end bit.

Ive just been to a breakers and taken loads of these little door clips off a couple of Phase 2 & 3s, I should have enough left over to send you a few if you want? Although they arent much from Renault anyway...

yeah i just bought 19 for £11!!!!

Just missing one of the plastic bits that the screw goes into near the middle of the car. u got one of them? dont want em falling off.

Is that in the rear quarter of the car? If so I cant get one of those as I didnt have enough time or patience to go tearing out the inside of the interior, I took them off a 3 door, whearas mines a 5 door and the bit ur talking about just appears under a cap when I open my door.

Havent seen any *complete* phase 2 strips but my local breakers have some bits and bobs on various Clios.
