Let say I've "lost" my phone. If i claim on the insurance, do they then block the old phone somehow?

It would be barred from All networks I believe by IMEI number.

There are ways to change the IMEI but get caught and your fucked, they seem to take phone fruad pretty serious now!

Not worth it for a couple hundred sheets!

Old phone gets blocked as soon as you ring... changing the IMEI number can land you in jail!!!! But you can keep it for spares or sell it on ebay to foreigners as it will only be blocked in the UK.

Actually imei's are rarely blacklisted.

But im not endorsing "fraud"

I claimed for mine on my contents insurance on my house, no questions asked. Best way, they didnt take any details of the phone i calimed for.

I 'broke' the screen of my w800 a month before my upgrade.

I got a new phone, which I kept pristine and sold it on ebay as brand new making a nice profit. I got £150 for it. The original one I had would have fetched about £50 as it was pretty badly marked.

Then on my upgrade a month later I got a new N80 no questions asked.

When I phoned up Orange to say I'd smashed the screen on my w800 it was like a Spanish inquisition.

They wanted to know where I was, what I was doing, was the phone in my pocket, what kind of pocket, all sorts of stuff but they were ok and shipped a new one next day.

Just be prepared for questions.

And yeah, barred phones can still be sold on eBay to countries outside UK.

Have you had enough of the N80?

I know a lot of people loved it, then after getting used to it, hated it.

I like mine in all honesty.

Sure the sms system isn't the greatest but everything else is fine.

Takes good pics, radio, mp3, wifi, I've got about 10 episodes of the Mighty Boosh on it, and now TomTom6!

Yes it has some flaws but all round it's the best phone I've had.

(went from a Cellnet Easylife to BT Savvy, 8210, 8310, 6600, D500, W800, N80 so not neccessarily saying a lot!!)

Just it running slow sometimes (despite a hard reset and installing sms accelerator) and suggesting some stupid predictive text words like CV first before AT just because I once used CV in a text. Or witi for with.
