can you not magic wand the lines?

surely press once and it will select them all??

2mins i'll do it :D

If you convert the image to greyscale and then go to levels, move the left hand tab to where the 1st mark on histogram is, this will give it a bit more contrast. If you then go to Edit - Define Brush Preset you should have it as a brush preset. You can then change colour, shade etc as you wish. Hope this helps.

sidewinder. nice one mate! i didnt realise when you made it into a brush preset the white was discarded! thanks

thank b3nje too!

Never mind all this cut out b****cks.....
If you are laying this on-top of another image then go to levels (ctrl+L) or (Apple+L) on a mac. Like it's been said slide the adjusters but keep the background white.
Now put this on top of the layer you want it over and in the layer control pull down (in the layers pallet next to channels and paths) set the layer to multiply. It's now see through as anything white is 'clear' when set to multiply.
This is an example of a photo with your globe layerd over.

Notice how the black lines are very clean. This is the best way to do this type of layering if the image is a jpg and the line work is part of the background.

thanks alot for that Rich, that is another method i will have to try, i did sidewinders method and that seemed to work perfect. cheers.

only wanted it for use in the flash banner at the top of this page. here

tbh sidewinders method is better because it's more versatile.

I use my method when I scan in hand drawn artwork to do quick concept visuals and paint on a layer below.

The biggest advantage to sindwinders way is that afterwards you can lock layer opacity and tint aspects of the line work.
