Photoshop

  Cupra
Any, the latest one has all the newest features. None of them is any less complicated than the next except for photoshop elements.

  PH-Lamer 1.4 16v
i like cs3, thats the one i started on, but theres cs4 out now which aint much different. They all ok, just depends which one you can get your hands on ;)

  Scirocco GT 2.0
Where's the best place to get it from?

Any LEGAL means, of course :nono:

Torrents are illegal, so are programs like BitTorrent and uTorrent :quiet:

As said, CS3 would be the one to go for imo, although we'll be getting CS4 in a few weeks at work so my opinion may change! :approve:

Any prices on how much I would be looking at?

If you wanted to buy it your looking at:

Around £400-500 for Photoshop CS3, over £800 upwards depending on which version you get for Adobe Create Suite (Design Premium CS3 is £1400 iirc) which includes Adobe Acrobat Professional, Flash CS3, Dreamweaver, InDesign etc

Photoshop CS4: http://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B001G8Y7IG/?tag=cliospnet01-21

As said, BitTorrent and uTorrent are Illegal :coffee:

torrents, utorrent and bittorrent are not illegal!! The sharing of copyrighted good's is illegal, not the service it's shared via.

A lot of online services use torrents as a way of distributing their media.

same as rapidshare..... perfectly legal to download stuff from there, just as long as it is not copyrighted. You could download something the size of photoshop CS4 portable in 5 minutes with a decent connection...

PC World are doing Photoshop elements for £64! Is it worth it as I think that seems cheap compared to waht ppl are telling me it will cost?

  Never above 25mpg
Photoshop is good. I self taught myself a few years back with various things and tutorials and am pretty pleased with the results I can achieve!

It's not hard, just takes practice and alot of dedication!!

It depends on what you want to use it for?

I would say elements is a fine tool for a beginner before jumping for Photoshop CS3/CS4 it will get you used to the feel and layout of Adobe products if nothing else.

Infact I started off with Photoshop Elements 2 before Photoshop 6, 7, CS2, CS3 etc.

Well I defo need practise. Here is the car I started with:

Here is the wheel I have picked to go on the car and I know it's not on a good angle or doesn't meet the angle of the car:

This is after I have taken the bits between the spokes away and tidied up around the wheel after using the lasso tool:

At the moment I don't know how to take the original wheel off the civic or take the right inside wheel bits off the new wheel!

This is what I ended up with:

Please don't laugh I really need help as I want to help ppl with photoshop request!

Ah Scotty, I knew you would be the first to reply! Any tips on what I was trying to do for that type of shot?

Cheers

Good effort dude!

Im not sure what method you used but i persume you cut round the wheel, positioned it and transformed it (skew and distort etc).

Personally id have got a better picture of the wheel (already on a car) and a more sideon image of the car but hey, why not throw yourself in at the deep end :rasp:

Yeah tell me about it mate! I think it would of worked out better if I had better side on views of the car and of the wheel too! I just used the lasoo tool to chop around the wheel and then cut and paste to the car after I had trimmed it and then scaled down to size. I don't know if that was the right way to do it or even the easiest.

I don't suppose you know of how to get rid of the old wheel that was on the first pic of the car

Cheers for any help you can give me
Mark

On the wheel layer, you can go Edit > Transform > Flip Horizontal

Then it will look like its on the correct side.

As for the wheel behind. Stock pics of wheels like you have there make it very difficult as there is no brakes etc behind the wheel to blank out the old wheel. I usually just colour that wheel in.

Make a new layer, select a paintbrush. Use black, then just colour the middle of the wheel in. This layer needs to be above the civic but below the wheel..

^^Thats brilliant for learning photoshop on cars.

Revels,

Thanks for your help mate, your a star. In my version of PS elements (version 5.0) I found it to be Image>Rotate>Flip Horizontal. Any I suppose it's the same sort of thing you were trying to tell me what to do.

Here's how it turned out! First time I tried it as seen before:

2nd time with help from Revels rotating the wheel:

Any better??? Much better me thinks, Thanks Revels.

Revels how do you select a new layer? I have heard of layers on PS, but never been shown how to use them?

The best way i can think of describing layers mate is:

Imagine you have got a piece of paper with an image on it (Ie car)

You then put some tracing paper on the top of it and edit things on the car, Ie just draw say a spoiler and put it over the base image. layers can be turned on and off so you can see before and afters :)

Cheers mate, very well described, but doesn't really show me how to do it?

Between you and Revels I'm sure I will get there!
