Pipecross Viper induction Kits

  Octavia vRS
Hi all,

Am getting my 182 clio on Tuesday and I cant wait. Get rid of my 1.2 16v clio. (never mind). Anyway I am looking to put a pipecross induction kit on my 182, I want to know if this is any good or is there anything better I could get?

Thanks

a fair bit of debate on here if they're good or not, do a wee search. A lot of people reckon you're better with an ITG panel Filter in the standard Airbox compared to a Viper, the ITG Maxogen is supposed to be better but its pretty expensive.

they are all the same mate. ive had a viper, maxagon, itg filter, piperx and k&n on my cup. Ive kept the viper because it sounds the best.

so i am best off getting ITG Maxogen, whats good about these ?

personal preference, its been known that PVs actually reduce power and just generate noise.

i personnaly dont rate the viper at all, i had mine fitted throughout the winter, cold air feed connected to the fog light recess. I felt it bogged down lower down the rev range, and also found a load of grit in the intake pipe

quite shocking actually,

now i'm running an ITG panel filter, and imo its alot better imo. Get the inlets matched, much better value for money

as gaz said, getting the inlets matched is better value for money than a viper!

if you cant stretch to a maxogen i would just buy a itg panel filter!

when i had a viper i lost torque and there was a big flat spot in my midrange

I had a pipercross viper on my 172, then one on my 182 and have now got one fitted to my Hybrid soon to go on the Williams.
I never had any of them remap'd and was chuffed, so it can only get better with a remap imo

Just need to get a CAF sorted when it goes on the williams

maxogen is defo the best one to get, cools thats what i'll do anyone know anysite where I can get it cheapest on ?

i have tried for better price mate ktec is the best with our discount i think!!! ebay ones do exist at around 385 plus delivery...i had a viper on my cup and it was not mapped but really sucked any kind of performance from the engine it had flat spots all over the place!! if it was mapped then i dont know mexogen is the best but at that price is just ridicilous!!! i would and probably go this route my self a itg panel filter with improved airfeed and then get the inlet manifold done by hill power should see good gains!!! it you look on ebay mate there are around 4 or 5 vipers for sale and they are always for sale on here as well you never see a maxogen and that says it all to me mate!!! go for the panel filter i think thety are 40!!!

Maxogens are the top of the tree no one can argue that but at nearly 400 notes their only for the upper class modder hence why their rare on the 2nd hand market ;)

Flat spots = remap time

Think a lot of IK's are getting bad press at the mo due to folk not fitting them correctly and not mapping them. More air in needs more petrol to match

if I get a panel fliter would i need to get it re-map? if so how much will this remap cost and where can i get it done?

no remap required with panel filters ........................remaps around 300 i believe , should be ok with just an itg panel filter with good air feed if u go down them lines

what about the gen 2 k&n kits i have heard these are very good have induction sound quality of k&n but have an enclosure to stop heat anyone?
