Had mine for just under 12 months thought id give it a clean yesterday took it off and it was full of tiny stones, looked into the air box and that was full of grit aswell this cant be good for the engine?????????? ordered a cleaning kit but how often should it be cleaned do you think i should contact piperx and complain looked to see if the filter was torn anywhere but it isnt anyone else had the same problem?

i know its a vacuum innit so its gonna suck stuff in, was this stuff before the actualy filter?

try some gauze befoe the filter?
I havea mate whos viper actually tore through....and piperX didnt do anything about it.....so, regular cleaning is neccesary.
Also, take it off and look at the filter from thw back, small tears appear there first, if you can palce some gauze behind it to support the foam.........it might help...but they certainly aint rugged things.
