Tbh your white one was very good. I must have done 6/7 laps and the tyres seemed as good from lap one. I was very suprised when you told me the make.

Look into Syron race, Nankang NS-2R, Dmack 'track day tyres), silver stone FTZ Type RR.

^^^These names are some of the new manufacturers to the track day tyres, listed above are in the same class as Yoko AD08, Federal RS-R and then a step up is Yoko A048r's, 888's, Direzza's.

TBH after trying federal RS-R's and speaking to people using the Nankangs the big names no longer have the performance tyre monopolised and all these newer manufacturers are bringing good products to the table. I wouldn't flinch about trying any of the new stuff as you can typically have two tyres to the one 'branded' tyre.

FYI P6000's aren't a track tyre in anyway, good for some fun if you don't mind killing them off.

Cheers mate. Tbh I bought the new car with the intention of trying ao48's etc as all the other days I've been on I've used road tyres. The car is IMO going to be great on track and want the tyres to suit.

Ok with ref the pirellis

Not great for fast road and will be rubbish on track.

As above, give the ns2rs are a try if they are in your size. I absolutely loved mine!

  DON'T SEND ME PM'S!!
P6000s are the worst tyres ever!! Utterly dangerous in the wet! However, on track you can get them red hot sticky and they are hilarious

Yes, they are very sticky. The trouble is, once they cool the compound is fucked and they are never any good again

Ah ok. They seem great on the road, I obviously know track is different. Got to keep my eye out for some tyres

Are those nankangs worth a shout, they seem cheap. Anyone used them on track?

I was speaking to a guy at the weekend down Knockhill who owns the red Ktec turbo 197, he uses them and thinks there great. He has 18" wheels and gets them for something like £103, he does chuck them at road legal level as he thinks their performance drops off, I would too at £100 in 18", brilliant value.

You get medium and soft compound also.

So worth a blast then. How far are they away from the likes of ao48's etc?

I imagine a048s will be a fair bit gripper in the dry but they are the next league above ns2rs really. These are more comparable to the likes of AD08, R1R, RSR etc.

My fronts on the road lasted around 8000 miles of abuse and even just about on the markers they were still very grippy. I would of give them away on here for someone to try on track but i got a puncture in one :(.

The backs are still like new. Mine were the medium compound.

I was going to change to the soft on the rears and run mediums up front.
