Pistons and Vales Where from

  Revels Mum & Sister

Not sure on the course of action yet. But I may be buying a Built up head.

But I also want to know where I can get OE Pistons and Valves from??

Also what am I likely to pay. Is for a F7P engine

Any links numbers etc will be a great help!!

if you went to williams spec the pistons are about £80 each, crank about £500, but on top of that you would need the rings and lots of other little fidly bits that you proably wont be aware of till you do the swap, also the machiening of the inside of the short block to make the crank clear,

but it would be a flyer!!

sorry i can help on the standard F7P bits, but i cant see anyone else selling OE renault, it would help if somtbody knew who made them for renault as you could try and source then through another distrbutor

Lofty.

If I used Williams Spec Pistons would I need to change the crank, I am guessing yes as this changes the compression?

Where abouts can I get the Pistons from. I was told 16V Spec ones were £150 each!!! £80 seems a lot less.

How much would a set of 16 Valves be?? Can I usee Williams ones as well??

Williams valves are 2 mill oversize @ 32 mm. You would need the seats machined to fit and cut. and in a std engine, it wont give you much......infact, if the throats arent modified to make use of the flow potential, then itll give nowt.

IF (nowhere near 100% sure) i remember, the willy has a shorter piston an a longer rod and if you mix it with a 1.8 crank, you will lower the compression height. But i cant remember......it might be the total reverse! lol

Best call Ren for a set of valves, then Ktec, then HP and BBT........get a comparison.

Id stick with the 1.8 as your damage downt seem to severe and from what you have told me, is limited to pistons and possible combustion damage, and your valves. Check the bore for scratching too.

itll be alot more expesive if you start thinking of a 2ltr conversion......

you can pick up the valves from Andyspares for not much money. Proper sodium filled exhaust valves and everything.
