Plasma Dials, Please help !

Hi,

My plama dials have arrived and im going to fit them today, The dials slip over the origionals with no need to remove the old dials below. So thats fairly straight forward.

But ive got to wire the transformer up to the live wire for the speedo illumination... Can anyone tell me what colour the positive is ?

lol, If i can get someone to tell me which live wire illuiminates the dials then im pretty much sorted. The dash is off and im staring at wires.

Im taking pictures as i go along, So i might mate a guide if i get finished.

Ive got some pics, Theres a grey and red connector at the back.

From the stalk where the lights are turned on there is a green, white and purple wire.

So im guessing its one of these? I need the wire that when you put your sidelights/headlights on the dash lights up, That wire... on one of these two connectors.

Just been down to renault, That was a waste of f**king time !

Didnt realy expect them to give me a diagram but they could have said what colour the wire was?

He made up some c**k and ball story that the wiring bloke was on holiday lol.

Its so simple, yet i cant get any info... I could wire it to the live, but that would mean switching it on at the transformer everytime.. which kills the effect.

Im hoping the way it works is you wire it up to the live illumination and it comes on with the lights....

Looks like the dash will go back on without plasma dials :(

Ive got the battery dissconected so the airbags dont accidentally go off, Plus the holes in each of the connectors are so small i dont think i could get the meters in.

There installed now. What a nightmare really.

I used the red wire and grounded it to a bolt...

The way ive wired it up is to a contstant live feed i think, Id rather have the live feed from the lights when the stalk is turned on but im going to try and correct this soon.

Using the dial that came with the kit, I have to turn it from min to about half way for it to light up and be seen at night, It looks really good. But when i turn the car off and take the key out of the ignition, Then turn the dial right down to minimum its still lit dimly :S.

Im going to email the bloke who sold it and see if its normal.. Im guessing not?

I just hope it wont flat my battery tonight as im going out and dont have time to take it all apart again !

s**t, thats a constant live i've given you there. Will most probably drain the battery, i'll have a look for the illumination one now. Thought that it would've only come on with the ignition. Hold on a min.

Right depending on how you want them to work, if you want them to come on with the ignition then its the Yellow wire Pin 2 same connector. To come one with the dash illumination its the Blue wire Pin 3 same connector.

Yeah, thought it was lol. Whats the wire so that when the sidelights are turned on, power is given to the leds in the speedo?

They're f**king awesome! Dead impressed with them look to be decent copies of the original font/layout which is nice to see, where'd you get them from?

Some proper night pics would be good, bet they look even better.

Im please with them aswel :)

Just took a spin round to tesco, they look great even in the evening.

I will get a guide up tomorro.

And i think if i can get them to work with the stalk i will be very happy.

Pissed off there was limited insructions with the kit though, Would have liked a wiring diagram.

they got the dials on ebay for the 182, will require the speedo bulbs changing!

didnt know they did it for a 140mph speedo!

saw these on ebay a while back but never came to it. did u say u put them over the top of old speedo...im comfused?

yes as they arent transparent so you see nothing from underneath,they are v.good quality imo but the instructions are limited cos they dont fit them.they just supply them

ALL WORKING NOW !! :D

cheers bmh.01. Conected the blue wire and it works perfect with the stalk, no glow when off.

Im off out in abit i think. Guide and pics will come tomorro.

Rough idea of price? Is there any way to incorporate this design with that video showing the dials changing to red past a certain revs?
