Plastic Bump Strips!!

  Clio 1.2 16v Dynamique
Hey all.

Im new to this forum malarky (only joined yesterday) and moddin too so bare with plz?!!

Can anyone tell me how to go about colour coding all of the external black plastic trim and bump strips? My car is the common as muck standard black (dunno panit code) u see on every other clio on the road!! it jus looks sh*t with black platic on black paint!! Do i need to sand, prime, spray, etc.. or can i jus remove them and spray them straight up? on the other hand should i jus get them done at a bodyshop? How much would this cost me (only a student remember)? Would really like to know how to do it myself however! Also... how the hell do u remove them? is there a nack or would a big 'ammer do the trick? i know the trim on renaults isnt the best so i really dont fancy breaking or scratching them during removal?

any advice or guidance would be much appreciated!!

Thanks Renshaw!!

to get the side bump strips off you open the door and slide the bump stripes towards the door they should come out easily then...

when off you :

1. sand down bumpstripes ( i used an electric sander )
2. Spray a couple of coats of plastic primer onto the strips ( leave time to dry between each coat )
3. Spray a couple of coats ( again leave time between each coat ) of Black renault paint making sure you get even spray and make sure you spray the same distance away all the time
4. Spray a couple of coats of laquer ( again leave time between each coat ) make sure you spray enough to get a shiny finish but make sure you dont spray too much otherwise you get a runny finish.

Your pain codes on your drivers door.

Halford will mix it up for you in spray cans.
