Play in Gear/Linkage

I seem to have quite a bit of play in my gear stick, engine mounts seem ok - looking at the linkage underneath it doesn't feel as taut as it perhaps should be.

Is there anything on these prone to wearing or falling off that will need replacing?

when you say play, does it wobble when you put it in to 1st gear?

How do you mean wobble? It enters each gear smoothly without resistance, but there is play left-to-right when it's in gear

thats what i mean - is it the left to right movement thats worrying you?
i've noticed mine started doing that a little more recently
