Play in the steering (mk1 Clio rsi)

I have quite a bit of play in the steering what causes this and how can i fix it?

the bottom uj has worn more than likley, which is part of the column replacment column is best way but have herd of ppl weldng them which in my opinon isnt the best idea

Can be welded fine, if you get another column it will cost you an arm and a leg and no doubt just wear out again.

See above on where its welded, best to take the column out for best results, again pretty easy to remove the column.
