How does this fit. It has a flange on one end and nothing on the other. Something has been sawn off.
Where does the Lambda go?

it should have a bend in it where the sawn off end is and there is a hole where the lambda sensor goes

So I have half of a de-cat. I knew there was no Lambda probe hole and didn't think it was long enough. I wonder if benp will get my other half.

I've just spoken to James and this is how Prospeed gave it back to him. This was bolted to the end of the centre pipe so you should be ok.
To me it looks like Prospeed have whipped the old de-cat off, bolted this to the centre pipe and sent James on his way as there is no bend in this section and it appears too long to be the section which bolts up against the manifold.

To me it looks as if prospeed have removed the entire cat and replaced it with this which was attached via the flange to the centre pipe. I think James has been done to be honest as this looks in no way like any part of the de-cat.

looks like the bend has been cut off, my decat is very similar, except that where you have something cut off, mine bends round and up to fit to the manifold, and has the lambda hole. If that one is gonna be no good to you, i've got one that'll fit!

I'm not up on my exhaust systems and assumed that this was it, and that it needed welding to your manifold section. After seeing the car on the ramp at Rentech last week, it did look strange as I have two 'cat' looking sections and I was only expecting one. Could Prospeed have cut the decat in half leaving the body on my car and then welded the new sport cat, centre section etc in??

Ben P - I think you'll be fine. You have the centre that has a flange to join your existing cat, but I can't quite remember the fitting to the back box. Any problems and I'll refund you too.

Not to worry James, these things happen. I really don't know what could have happened here. Why would Prospeed need to cut a perfectly good decat up? Unless it was originally a straight through pipe with no silencer and Prospeed just whipped one end off and spliced a sports cat in its place. I can't think of anything else.

Sorry boys, this is the first chance I've had to get on. I've had a silly weekend.

From the pics, it looks like someone has just got an angle grinder to that and chopped a lump out of it. Day has a pic of what my decat looked like when I got it. PM him for it...

I fitted one of these to my old 172, great bit of kit made a big difference to performance, but......it was a b*****d to fit. Also make sure you fit a new gasket set between the manifold and cat. Trust me you don't won't to be taking it off again once its on.
