Please Help all, de-cat problems??

I took my 1.4 16v into the garage this morning to take the cat off and replace it with a straight through pipe, he has just rang me and told me that it can't be done because there is a second lambda sensor on top of the cat hidden,

does anybody know a way of getting round this??

he said if he takes it off anyway the car will run like a bag of s**t

Please help peope so I can get it done

Think I heard people just leave it hangin (obviously not draggin on the floor like).

when i was at pro speed charlie was not to happy about makin a decat for my 1.4 16v. said it can cause the car to lose power and all sorts of problems. also he said its a massive pain in the arse to make a straight though pipe, showed me it all under to car and explaned it,

please let me no how u get on as im still interested in gettin one!

Didn't get on lol, ive bin told that if the lambda sensor is left off the car itruns like a bag of s**t, not only that but the mixture becomes wrong, the engine loses powers and can cause the pistons to melt or something like that. I've bin advised by Fred yozzasport, K-tec and my garage that its a bad idea, so for now there is no way round it.

So whats the difference in leaving the second lambda sensor off ( in a tube ) a 182 and a 1.416v ?How come the 1.4 will run like a bag o' shite when the 182 is supposed to be ok with the exception that it might cause the toxic emissions light to come on ?

Anybody know whats the difference ??

Yer the light definately comes on, something to do with the ECU sensing the incorrect temperature and adjusting the mix for the worst, it is an interesting question though, why won't it work??
