please help asap

172 sport i was driving it yesterday and it was driving fine next thing the rev counter went off and the temperature gauge went of then comes back on when it feels like it. still drives fine but today went out in it its doing the same now it will not start just turns over for a few seconds then cuts off totally. any ideas? sensor mabey? its for sale to so needs fixing before sunday as its supposed to be going! help me please???

sounds like immobiliser fault to me mate

Does it all come on okay when you put the key in and turn it but without trying to start the car? (You should see the needles flicker slightly when you 'key-on') Try putting the clockset in to diagnostic mode to see if its a generic electrical fault or a clockset fault itself.

how do i put the clockset into diognostic mode and what do i do after that?

what's the red light doing on the dash? Crank sensor maybe? best to run diagnostics on it to narrow it down. Where you located?

Trip computer diagnostic test is done by holding down the trip button for a few second, then run the key to ignition point.
