Plenum and Manifold Q

Are the inlet manifold and plenum the same on a Ph2 172 and a 182?

Also, if you were to get them matched, which bit is it that gets machined? Or is it both parts?

both parts will get matched , thought the 182's are different to the 172 inlets , something i read on here .

people seem to say the 172 doesnt fit the 182 but i've had a matched 172 inlet on my 182 for ages without any problems apart from the ecu light being on due to the carbon thingy not being connected)

took my matched inlet off today and the car is so slow i'd reccomend it as a worthwhile mod to do.

p.s. mines up for sale now £250 with all the top half mirror polished including around the letters

I had my carbon canister off for ages, doesnt make a light come?? Although I was running a resitor through it for a while which made the airbag light come on but then took it out and everything was fine.

Some 172's have the sameones as the 182's, but only the latest ones I am aware. Check the canister, if it plugs into the head then a 182's won't fit, if it goes into the plenum instead then is the latest design hence the same as the 182.

The fitting issue is with the plenum, the lower manifold will fit either model
