Plenum O'Ring

Excuse my idiosy but on my 172 I've have managed to damage the egg shaped o'ring that sits under the plenum. Renault tell me that they do not supply the o'ring separately & that a replacement part with the ring will cost £40 approx. Can anyone confirm this as it seems ridiculous to have to spend so much to replace a part that would cost Renault next to nothing & if this is the case is there an aftermarket alterataive.
Although the car runs well it does now stall occasionally & I'm assuming this is the result of a possible air leak as I've had to refit the old damaged o'ring.
Any help appreciated.

can you not use some gasket paste or similar?

7700114203 thats the part number for it i bought one on its own the other week should cost about £7

Mine cost £7+ as well. Definitely not £40.
