Plusnet cancellation

Ok, i want to cancel my plusnet broadband but cant find anything on their website, anyone had any experience of it.

Wanting to cancel asap really.

Any help appreciated.

I think I used to be with them and you have to send them a letter.

Although I rang back late on a Friday and the bloke on th other end of the phone was depressed so did it for me there and then.

raise a ticket saying that you want your mac code. If you have any outstanding charges/contract then they won't issue you with it until you're fully paid up.

that's not true.

isp's sign up to a voluntary code of practice regarding mac codes. they can't withold a mac code even if you haven't paid.

I'm assuming because I've been with them over a year I shouldn't get any penalties to pay etc? anyone know?

Which would be fine. Except you already mentioned the magic word "voluntary" and plusnet haven't signed it!

Edit: here's the link for the list of ISP's that *have* signed up for it.

That depends on whether or not you took anything like the deferred activation fee (if you transferred in then that won't be the case), if you did then there might be a bit to pay.

nice link, i'd never seen that list before.

plusnet have quite a bad rep since their traffic shaping debacle.

Tbh I've found them fine in the year and a half I've been with them. They were cheap at the time and, although ISP's have moved on in terms of speed, I still find plusnet to be good enough for what I need them for.

Moving house in the next month or so, so I may do a bit of research on who's hot nowadays.

Who does everyone go with now?

what is the bandwidth limit they impose after 4gb of on peak useage per month?

Are they expensive? £15 a month for 8mb?
