pms low temp thermostat

Just having a gander on pms and came across this. I can't find any previous threads so onto the question.

What difference is there to a normal thermostat, other than opening sooner and cooler? Is there any noticable difference?

Also, would it be suitable for a road car? Will it cause any damage long term?

Funny you mentioned this Lee, I was looking at this on the PMS website around an hour ago myself.

@AdDaMan why wouldn't you recommend it for a road car?

Thats just bullshit mate. If its an out and out track car with constant high temps they yeah, it may be needed. On a road car it will do more harm than good.
Your engine can run too cold.

Just as I thought with the cold running, Obviously not ideal for winter either. I did wonder about 'allowing the engine to produce maximum power' implying it's not producing full power as is.

No point whatsoever. Even chips 300+ bhp one still retains the standard thermostat. If your getting too hot the thermostat isn't the issue, it's the cooling(radiator/flow)

Common thing to have fitted to foreign cars with a higher ambient temp. All it would do on a road car is take longer to heat the car up, Clio's take long enough as it is for a petrol car.

They work a treat on some cars as on the Corsa VXR's they run hot at an average of 105 degrees, knocks it down a good 10 degrees.
