Police unwanted attention

As alot of people on here go to "cruises" and the like has anyone on here ever had much bother.

Reason I ask is that I have been cruising for about 8 years on and off and seem to be one of the only person I know that has never had any BIG trouble with the police.

I think in 8 years I have picked up about 3 fines, 2 for plates and one for fogs (even when it was bloody foggy!)

Also wondered how the owners of modified cars in general are treated, cos I know I get stopped more in the Clio than in my company Astra estate (eventhough the Astra is NEVER cleaned and looks a mess after only 10 months of abuse)

Just wondered how the police in your area acted compared to up here in the North East. Police presence at cruises tends to be minimal and they only step in when the idiots start, which I have no problems with.

Just curious

The Police around here (Cheltenham) are really bad...

We have a Cruise every Sunday and you think that they are just leaving you to it then they will crack down again...

The only problem we have is dick head drivers and there have been quite a few accidents involving innocent people... So i can see there point with that... But as you say "only step in when the idiots start, which I have no problems with" And nor do we... Just wished they seen it like that...

Ive never really had a problem, the only time was when i lucky met the nicest officer ever! I was only 16 and drove a non-road legal mk1 golf to brands, with no plates! Luckily i was let off as i was only half a mile from the track, and promised the car was getting towed back!

Other than that i dont really have a problem with the police, despite the area i live in and the age that i am. The police at southend seem ok as well which is my main cruise meet.

i havemt had too bad a run-in with them, although i have been lucky a few times. one fine for fog lights.......i had just left a cruise and i was an easy target to pass a message onto your mates. Anytime the cruise near me, Huddersfield area, has been policed and producers given out, i always managed to leave 10mins before they arrived lol! My car is now back to being 100% road legal, as i have taken my blue sidelights out. Only thing they may question is my plate, but its the plate renault supplied, just trimmed around the edges. I have been lucky so far, although my mate who lives in West Lothian-where i used to live- has been pulled by the fuzz on many occasions lol!

in my first year of driving i got pulled 12 times in my xr2 then i got a primera and on the first night i was pulled for stealing my own car !!!!1

no i wasnt driving like a dick

i was driving around and arround and arround the post in the empty car park yea had a reason to pull me i dont debate that but like a dick no! wasnt as if the tyres wer screaching and going as fast as i could!

the times u got pulled was when u had ur fogs on and because of an illegal plate!

M

the reasons i got pulled in the xr2 were 9 times for friendly chats 1 time searched for drugs another time for going accross a 60mph rounda bout at 40 and indacating to pull off at 3am oh an once my 2 armed police in london because we were driving behind them, i live in york by the way

Been stopped by armed response unit once, nearly crapped myself. Someone had said that there was a silver escort driving around waving a gun out of the window. Wasnt me, still was placed face down on the floor while they checked though! Come to think of it Ive had quite a few "funny" stops, lol

when i was stopped in the primera i was stopped by 2 vans 3 cars and about 15 officers 2 of my mates ended up in the back of a van and another was on the floor and i was spread aginst one of the cars i was sh*tting myself

In my Nova GTE I was driving through town and got barracaded. They had me on the floor. And when they found out I hadnt stolen my own car. They let me go. Turned out they were looking for a Stolen "BLACK" Nova GTE and my "SILVER" GTE looked like a black one in the dark.

And then the copper was just a cheeky tw*t and asking me where I was going and why, shouldnt I be at home and not causing trouble in my souped up car. Dickhead.

Havent been stopped once in my Clio. Had it 6 months. Even though I sometimes drop the missus back at like 12 ish. And loads are about they pay no attention. The Nova was another story though!!!

Ive had the coppers wanting me to STRIP the entire insides of the car out by the roadside (includig removal of rear seats+ they wanted the sub+false floor out!!!)

I overtook an unmarked 306 a bit quick once, that was quite funny, fully legal though!!!! I had a brilliant arguement with him!!!!

My mate who is 20 gets pulled nearly everyday in his Pulsar!!!!

Another friend of mine Also gets pulled quite often in his Scooby (hes 19!!!!)

fred why did they want you to strip your car?

the police pulled my once for "following" them.

clearly i was on my way home and they were just going the same way as me, anyway after i left again they followed me for 6 miles to make sure i wasnt lying hehe!

NO REASON, I WAS JUST TOLD TO STOP BEING CHEEKY (for asking why they pulled me over!!!)

I told them if they got me a 17mm socket and rachet, i could probably strip the back out in about a 1/2hour (this didnt go down too well)

I explained that the sub was bolted to the floor for safety reasons (i offered to take them back to my house and i could strip it there for them, but i think theyd had enough at this point and let me go)

Solow where abouts in the north east are you from?, Im from durham, cops not that bad there, its northumbria police who are the knobs!

I personally think police really do victimise people with moddied cars! This really annoys me because, i dont know about everyone else but I can be minding my own business and then the next thing I know i have the fuzz behind me and pulling me over. Normally for no reason!! In one evening I have been pulled 3 times!! All for just random checks!! They do annoy me when I think there are better things they could be doing like chasing reall criminals! NOT ME!

I was out driving once and I saw two prost*tutes on the street corner. I said to them "Ever been pulled by the fuzz ?" She said "No, but I have been picked up by the t*ts and swung around" :)

Never been stopped, pulled, nothin! Had a close call tho - been cruising for years, and run the manchester convoys. I had put times to meet on the message boards and went down to my convoy who were waiting.

Had traffic police sat on the hard shoulder on both sides of the motorway waiting just before the entrance to the services where i had arranged to meet people! Unlucky for them - i felt quite ill that night and got my b/f to drive me in his car and lead the cruisers...

They know what cars we drive, our registrations and everything else on their cruise register anyway. They read these boards too. If they really wanted to get nasty im sure they would but up here they are tollerant as long as we dont dick around :)
