inlet manifold on a 172, does anyone have a prefered tool/method for getting a polished chrome result?

take the manifold off, best use some emry cloth then finer emry to smooth it first as the casting grain is large and rough, then use a bench polisher and hand held air polisher.....

If you want polished chrome, you could always take it off, find your nearest electroplaters and get it polished and chromed (they have to polish it before the chrome it anyway). I got a strut brace and rocker cover done for 50 quid at a place near me. Polished alloy always seems to attract dust and fingerprints and seems to tarnish after a while. Chrome just needs a rub with a cloth and its looking A1

What type of business would have an air polisher?? Sounds like a daft question but really dont have clue were to even look for this to get this done.

simple machine shops should have a bench polisher, alternatively they are about 20 quid.
