Poor handling

  172 mk1
Hello, I have a steering problem with my clio 172 ph1 after fitting Eibach Sportline springs. The central area of the steering is loose. Before the installation, the handling was much better and more stiff. What might be causing this? I thought that these springs should make the handling better, not worse...

Tracking has been adjusted. After adjusting, caster is now +1,48 degrees, camber -1,12, toe in -0,11. Are these values ok? The front of the car is clonking when driving on a bumpy road. Top bearings of the shock absorbers have been replaced with new ones but the shock absorbers itself are old.

Sounds like the springs aren't seated properly !? There shouldn't be any knocking.

Who did the work ? If it wasn't you yourself.. take it back :dapprove:

The springs are installed by myself and should be installed correctly because the springs seem to fit properly. Could it be the old shock absorbers which are causing problems? The clonking is not very loud but you can anyway here it sometimes on a bumpy road. Should the handling be stiffer with Eibach springs when compared to the original springs?
