Poor RR result, could these plugs be the cause.

Had my car into RS Tuning on Sat, well impressed with the service however unfortunately my car didn't seem to be making power.

Paul thinks it could be the cam timing but also suggested it could be incorrect plugs.

I've managed to find a parts invoice from when I had the timing belt service carried out where the plugs where replaced and the following have been fitted:

BOSCH SUPER PLUS FR6KPP33X+

I'm going to change them as a matter of course before I take the car back however I'm curious if these could be causing the problem, I'm quite annoyed that the local "Specialist" hasn't used the O.E ones TBH

Think the generall concencous is to use the OE spec plugs.

Who did the work?

I presumed these would of been fitted, the work was carried out by a local independent Renault specialist who has quite a good reputation tbh. I'm guessing he's used Euro Car Parts who list these plugs at around half the price of the O.E ones, the car wasn't missing as such just running really rich at high revs and wasn't making power.

169 BHP after.

That's with a panel filter, cat back exhaust and a set of Angelworks matched inlets.... As you can imagine I'm quite looking forward to getting the car running right :)
 
Yeah that output is not to bad at all, who did the work for you mendal motors?, i think there the only renaut specialist in the teesside area

Yeah Mendal did the work mate, once everything's checked and right I'll be servicing it myself I think...

I'll buy them from a proper retailer, never know what trash you could be getting off eBay tbh!

In all fairness the plug change was a rash decision whilst the car was in bits so he may not of been able to source OE plugs so quick.....

I'll go with Paul's recommendation, he said the car was not right top end at all and wasn't making it's power at the right rev's, I'd expect a bit more too looking at results of others...

Look at how many have been sold on ebay, there exactly the same as renault and other retailers sell except for the price, renault there about £70, ebay £30, isnt it a no brainer?

dyno is just a figure, Tuners are allways happy to show gains or losses on dynos but truthfully its how the car actually feels on the road that really matters.

That's true in some cases yes but this car clearly does not perform like most other 182's on our Dyno so generally means there is an issue somewhere

That's not a bad output.

You won't find another 15 horses changing plugs !
there are stock 182's over the 170 bhp mark, with a remap, inlets and exhaust I'd expect it to be closer to the 180 figure or at least around 175

I've just put some NGK one's in mine and it's running better than ever at the moment, my car with a milltek with decat and k&n apollo put out 176 on the dyno, was pretty pleased with that!
