Poor sound

My cars OEM sound system is shockingly bad, I turned the bass up to maximum and it's laughable how bad it is... I might be worth mentioning it's had a Sony head unit installed by the previous owner.

The only way of explaining it is it sounds flat. All the speakers have sound coming out of them however...

Your speakers aren't up to it. Get them changed for some after market ones & you'll notice the difference.
