Porsche Crash - Imola

Given what happened on this day seventeen years ago at the same track - bet anyone seeing this live had hearts in mouths.

Monster smash.

Confirming this gave me chills down my spine.

But then I lol'd at the bit where the guy gets out with just a bit of a limp.

At least rolling countless times = energy dissipation !

I can't believe Senna's was 17 years ago too, an age ago. But tbh, it's thanks to his and Roland Ratzenberger's loss that weekend that saw the development in safety that meant the guy in the blue porker walked away from his car with nothing more than a limp !

We've got our first race next week, and all I keep seeing is fkn crashes on here.

Shows what speed they are doing,it goes on for the whole main straight.

Incredible. Testament to the sort of safety structures in modern comp cars. Benefit of the Porsche is that the front compartment will be very effective at adsorbing impact energy, even on that scale!

So true, don't forget Barrichellos smash that weekend! I may of been 6 years old but I still remember how horrific that weekend was.

Speaking of Senna, the documentary looks amazing and I got little emotional during the trailer of it at the cinema.
