Port & polish

My 172 is using a lot of oil so im thinking the valve stem seals are away. Im thinking of getting the head skimmed and ported and polished any1 done this or got any info about it??

How much oil is it using?

well i filled it up and done about 3000 miles and it was empty, so a fair bit!

not really, renault say 1l per 600 miles.

that seems a lot to me but thats good to hear. has any1 had a port and polish?
