Possible gearbox problem/failure

Hi,
I have a bit of an issue with my gearbox. My car is Clio sport 172 phase 2 but as I can see gearbox inside my car is form Phase 1 because it has speed sensor on gearbox itself.
For a while now I have been listening strange noises when I turn left but not on a full lock. Yesterday me and my mate lift up the car, we tried the gearbox while wheels were in the air and as soon the gearbox pics up speed (rpms) it starts to make rattle noises, when I pressed clutch all the noises disappeared.
So, is my gearbox about to fail?
And, I know that gearbox from phase 1 had some problems with their diffs, can anybody here explain me what is THE problem with this gearbox?

Tbh without a video of the sound etc. its going to be pretty difficult to diagnose from your description. I don't know what the specific issue is with early gearboxes however know that the differential was changed on later cars.

The fact that it happens when you turn left makes me think either driveshaft joint or diff
The fact that it does it in the air and stops when you press the clutch makes me think clutch release bearing.

Clutch is new. I changed it last september. I think that sound us coming from diff. Tomorrow I'm going to gearbox specialist for diagnosis. I really hope that it's not diff.
