Possible to put cone filter inside original airbox?

  Nissan 350Z
Is it possible?

I'd rather like increased induction roar. Not bothered about power gains. However, definitely do NOT want to lose power or torque.

I've done a search and there seems not to be anything conclusive about this that I can see.

Dont want a panel filter as it wont increase induction sound and probably wont give extra power anyway, therefore, whats the point?

I reckon if you measured it up and brought a universal K&N cone it would go inside the OE airbox....have to be quite a small cone though.

I would be inclined to source a used airbox...you could then cut it and fibreglass bigger ducts on etc and return to std if you wanted to.

if you enclose the air filter within an airbox, the sound will be muffled.

Probably better off just leaving the original airbox feeds in place and putting some loose (heat)shielding on the opposite site to the feeds
