Post Accident - Seatbelt, Alloys & Airbags Where do I start?

  Clio 1.2 Dynamique
One son, two days after passing his test drives his Clio 1.2 Dynamique into a high kerb at 40 ish...luckily the only damage was his nerves, two burst tyres, two destroyed alloys and passenger seat airbag gone off...

Now, I figured a couple of hundred quid would put it right but Renault tell me new seat belts, tensioners, air bags, seats and wheels are about £1800 which was what he had saved up and paid for the car in the first place.

Is there an easier way??? Can you fix seats/seatbelts and airbags yourself or does it need to be done professionally and yes have trawled the scrap yards with no joy...

certaintly wont be cheap, and if you dont really know what your doing i cant imagine you will save much money.

can he not claim on his insurance?

  RS2'ed 172 Cup
seat belts - Same in any Clio, Surely there must be some at a breakers even if diff spec car?
tensioners - Not 100% sure but again I would imagine the same in all clios
air bags, seats - Pick up a pair of Clio sport fronts fairly cheap used
and wheels Just get a full set for a few hundred quid off ebay

  Mk2 Clio dci
i had the same crash mate. i needed two new alloys new rear axle, new passenger seat and airbag comp. i brought all used parts except the airbag comp because that needs to be brand new to be programmed. Will be about £232 from renault.
you shouldnt need a seat belt? the seat normally comes with all the pretensioner, etc
cost me £400 all in, but then again i did the work myself and got discount.

EDIT - i used a company called 'just renaults' iirc, based in walsall but deleiver for about £25.

^that him? lol.

itd need to be done by renault/renault approved garage i think, airbags especially.

unless... u can track down new airbag units, and a whole new dash/steering wheel from somewhere, unlikely tho. have a gander on ebay for clios that are being broken.

nooo m8 thats me lol mine wer RS f1's there solid lol probly buckled but just look curbed, wish my car was just an airbag, 2 alloys and 2 tyres lol it would be cheaper lol

I would have though £1800 expensive. I'd advise going to a scrappy for wheels. The belt tensioners and airbag I'd probably buy from Renault just to be on the safe side, unless someone reliable has some spare on here.
