The 1.6 is miles quicker on the road, more torque and 12hp peak is a noticeable difference. Mine did 40+mpg standard so "substantially higher running costs" is a ridiculous statement to make.

I wasn't speaking from experience, that was simply what i was told when i was looking at buying mine. If your 1.6 was doing that mpg, it was and probably still is a dam sight cheaper for you to run than my 1.4 atm, mine still only does over 40 mpg on motorways.

If you have the standard radio it'll have station and track number. If you have an aftermarket HU and dont fit the stalk adapter, it'll just be temp and time.

Fill up, reset it (cycle to MPG and hold the button under the mileage display to reset mileage) then drive normally untill you need fuel again and check it. That'll be your average for that tank and miles since fill up.

Mine isn't standard now and does about 6o miles to a tenner mixed driving. Gunning it for 50 or so miles will chomp 15 quid.
