russ its the tv setting on ya camera shutter speed the more you slow the shutter down the more blurred the passing lights will get

cheers alan, like my cars fairly standard, i had the gti looking how it should have from the factory in my opinion lol

and that shutter effects with the lights are ace, im gonna give that a go when i get a tripod
