hey all sorry its another question on insurance but.....
How specific is the postcode lottery? I did a few searches the otherday changing just the last letter of the postcode e.g. NN22 9LP/ NN22 9LG.
Basically for my address the insurance was ~£1400 fc. I live in the corner of a cul de sac, park the car on the drive and have catagory B insurance area.
I then did a quote for the house directly behind mind. On a main bus route, right next to the local shops codename chav central, no off street parking, Came back at ~£1300 fc. Nearly £100 cheaper????
I then tried my friends house, a few streets away also a cul de sac, jitty way running down the side of the house, parked on a drive. This returned ~£1200 fc. so within 300yd there is a difference of £200 for in my eyes a less secure location??
All the houses are in the same insurance catagory, i did literally just change the last letter in the postcode. I did use a comparison site for ease which i know will not be accurate but i still find the difference difficult to justify?
If anyone can shed some light on how the insurance magicians create these prices it would be greatly appreciated as it does annoy me a little
p.s im 21yr old with what would be 3yr ncb.
