power boost valver

  ff 182

Looking at getting a power boost valve for my valver are they any good will they make any difference and is it worth buying 1

If you have problems with fuel pressure or flat spots then get one, youll notice the car takes off alot smoother..otherwise dont bother, unless youre fitting huge injectors?! Do a search on the forum, there have been quite a few threads about boost valves.

p.s. Im talking from experience cos I had one on my 1.9 gti

paul did it make a difference i just wondered weather to as im just looking at stuff for my so is it worth getting 1 and yes ben h lives near me but hardly see him at the mo as he always working and so am i

Mate, ive had one on two cars now - a megane and my valver. Basically, yes theyll iron out flat spots but theyre only truely useful on engine with serious mods (ie headwork or cams - stuff that alters timing/fueling). If your doesnt have this and youre not planning to go that route then just get a chip instead....nearly the same price and will also sort out any flat spots....

To answer your question no, it made no difference what so ever. The car was already silky smooth before I fitted it, I was more gullable back then and fell for the advertising!

smoothed clio theyre not another ecotek gimmick (paul1178 - cant help thinking youre getting confused between the two as ecoteks are sh*te and make no diff). As i said earlier, theyre only really of use where your timing/fueling has been altered by serious engine mods otherwise you wont notice much difference.

U33b - errmmmmm I have been blessed with more then 5 brain cells and therefore am able to recognise the difference between an Ecotek and an FSE boost valve. One I have owned (BV) and the other I havent, i do not rate the boost valve end of story. If your car is heavily modded or lumpy through the gears then yes, it maybe worth while...mine wasnt and was therefore a waste of my time and money. Bit condescending your last comment...Ill forgive you though.
