power steering help

my power steering is whining. It loudest when the steering wheel is on full lock and being pushed further ie to its max lock and held there. The car i sonly two years old som im hoping its under warranty. Just wondered if anyone knew th elikely cause? im guessing its some kind of belt thats slipping.

on another topic i have had no end of probs with my clio the clutch suspension the air con and now the power steering but on my way home from thorpe park on saturday i took the country route home. Nice twisty roads sweeping bends etc. Suddenly i realised this was what my car was all about each corner taken a little harder but never even a glimpse of the car being on its limit. I had been so pissed off with all the problems but after this long drive home i got out with a smile. i realsied while this car may break alot, when it is driven in its element it is so rewarding. Suddenly i saw the good side to this car and suddenly realised this is why i spent so much on it and i spend so much fixing it. Obviously id rather have one that didtn break but for now at least i have forgiven my clio for the cost it causes me and have decided that country roads are the way forward.

Could be your power steering pump on its way out. Mine started whining on my 306, worst being at full lock. Different car I know but same principle.

I left it and ended up with fluid all over the floor and steering you needed to be Geoff Capes to turn. Pump was replaced and was fine.

I would imagine your warranty would cover it but dont quote me on that. Best to take it in and ask them.
