Power steering pipe 6000073688

Car  Clio 182 cup
Just had it confirmed by the garage my power steering is leaking and I need part number 6000073688. Obviously this is nla from Renault and google isn’t throwing up any options.
Can anyone point me in the right direction as to where I can find this part. It would be much appreciated

If you ended up sourcing a kit from advocult. Would be keen to hear an update on how you went with install etc!

Well it’s been dispatched so I’ll keep you updated. I almost repaired the original but with the original being 21 years old this year, throught I’d save the hassle of doing the job twice when another leak inevitably arises

I wonder if that kit also works with the Cup non ac set up?

Asked Thomas from Advocult in Feb this exact query. He said 'it should work fine. The hose might just be a little longer than required'
Just want to avoid bending the OE H/P line if I can. In case I want the AC re-installed. But in truth thats irrelevant, as the Advocult kit works with AC as well.

I know @HaveaCuppa has the cup setup on his car. He's also planning on installing the Advocult kit on his car at some point.

@MrBlonde Kits great, easy to fit if you have the engine out but massive PITA if you are doing it in situ.

The main pains where:
  • I had to undo the two small pipes on the rack to get spanner access to the HP line
  • My HP line union was seized so had to run an angle grinder through it and bend it to spin the union out
  • Alternator has to be moved out of the way to get access to the bango bolt for the kit assuming you still have full PAS/AC setup

I have the advocult kit fitted, pics in my project thread.

Honest opinion, it's ok. Just that, not amazing. I put a rivnut in my subframe to hold the hose with a P clip as their solution of a big cable tie is a bit s**t.

When I first fitted it it leaked on the PAS pump and only stopped when I changed the supplied copper washer for a Dowty washer.

The kit is intended for a non cup set up so the hose is a bit long leaving a big loop behind the rad but is fine once it's secured.

The AN fittings supplied aren't remotely a premium brand.

I can't remember what it cost, about £200? If so then it's probably a fair price. If I ever have the engine out again I'll re-do it with quality AN fittings and hose,(Aeroquip, speed flow, goodridge etc) and re design it so that it suits a cup set up properly.

Or just bin it all and fit EPAS (probably the best idea)

Thanks,i dont have a/c and have the cup alternator set up,does this make this easier?.
Im thinking just go get pirtek to make a new hose for me thats a tad shorter as at the mo it hangs out the front a bit because of having to mod/bend pipes to fit the cup alternator set up.

The advocult kit comes out of the rack and runs along the subframe

Then along the front of the subframe where I've secured it properly

Then the unnecessarily long hose loops up behind the rad fan and back down into a Tee piece for the PAS sensor, then into the pump, you can make out the hose Infront of the fuel rail cover here

If I was going to do it again I would use a banjo AN in the pump, straight into an inline sensor adaptor like this

Then straight into a 180 degree AN fitting and run it down the subframe to the rack, that would get rid of all of the unnecessary hose and look much neater

@MAXRUNDOWN That's a much better write up, I think I was just happy to not have PS fluid pissing everywhere.

Cup PAS pump placement is so much better than standard!

All this being said I am collecting the parts to run dci EPAS rack. The kit is much better than a failing pipe but I don't think it's objectively the best solution

Probably not the right thread to ask this.
From the perspective of steering feel. I know the 1*2's aren't the best when using the standard hydraulic set-up. How does the EPAS conversion compare?

I don't track my car. It's purely street driven. So overheating the pump/fluid is not a concern.
