power steering pipe changed- warning light city! help!

Hi, i just had a leak on power steering pipe so i had to buy a new one. Thankfully i know someone who used to work at renault so it was only £176 and no vat! (great) :S then it took the garage ages to fix but they only charged me £200. So then i get the car back and i get electrical fault warning light and it cuts the power so, i stop turn it off and turn it on again and its fine? so i go again, 10 mins, it does it again. i do the same and the car is fine all the way to slough (about 1 hours drive) then i get a toxic fume light come on with the electrical fault. So i do the same, stop, turn off, start and the electrical fault goes but the toxic light stays. This is a new car for me i bought for £3960 and i've all ready spent £370 on the thing and its still broken. Any one have any ideas?
