Pre cat lambda sensor

If this is playing up should I see an engine light on the dash?
Some people ive spoken to seem to think only the lambda sensor after the cat will bring up a light if it goes wrong.

Ive had my car on a diagnostics machine but it hasnt brought anything up.

What is your problem? A dash light? Sometimes the Lambda doesnt cause a light to go off, is ur MPG going down?

My car is miss firing on part throttle and the on idle the revs drop and nearly die, just rough running and it doesnt feel as fast as it should.

Ive replaced leads, plugs, throttle body, coil pack already

Car is a 172 cup

I would replace Lambda, get it from GSF around £50 i think

thanks ill give them a try theres a few websites that do them for around the price but i dont know if id trust them to send the right one out.

have a look in THIS THREAD there a link where i bought one off ebay............my engine light came on and the car was driving normal though
