Clio V6, Lotus Elise
Hi to all,
I hope this is the right place to post this being new here - I have had in my possession now for some years a Pre-production LHD V6 Clio that has never been road registered either in the UK (where I bought it) or in France (where I live). For the last few years I have driven it legally on my French trade plates but I have since sold my garage and can no longer use it on the public highway. According to the VIN sticker and chassis number it is number 7 and was fabricated April 2001, yet the engine, brakes, wheels, body and trim all correspond to a phase 2, as do the performance.
I'm basically looking to hear from anyone who can give me information on who actually built the V6 (I'm told the phase two's were UK built?) in my mission to get her road registered without it ending up on a Q reg as currently proposed by the DVLA. Renault France nor Renault UK recognize the car, despite it clearly being one and having a genuine Renault VIN.....
Thanks in advance to anyone who can provide concrete info.
Regards,
Richard
