pretensioners

got a mk2 ph1, and each front seatbelt has the built in pretensioner. is the drivers side one for the drivers airbag and the passengers for their airbag?
reason is that i want to get a dished wheel, but want to keep the passenger airbag functioning, if i removed my drivers pretensioner would it disable the passenger airbag too?

They all work individually so if you change the wheel all you loose is that airbag everything else should still work.

You lose the drivers airbag obviously but i think the seatbelt pretensioner may still work not 100% sure though. Passengers side will still work fine.
