I am doing mine tomorrow funny enough..

The dog bone mount is around £25

The passenger side gearbox mount is £36 inv vat from reno

The drivers side is about £60 depending on where you go.

Front wheel bearing is about £25 each you need to for front as you just dont change one side

The rear wheel bearings are £24 each and again I would advise doing both side so you need 2 again. With the rears you have to have them pressed into the rear brakedisc.

how do you get them pressed in mate, im not entirely sure which side/front or back as its on a car that i could be buying :)

any decent garage should have a press to push them in-if you wanna be really tight you can take the hub off yourself and just ask them to press the bearing in, shouldnt charge more than about a fiver!

yeah thats what I do, take hubs to garage and they will press them for you, dead simple and quite often they wont charge you (usually only five mins work), or if they do they are kinda embarrassed and only ask a fiver/tenner. If you are doing rear ones, consider new discs at same time, as if you need to change the discs in near future you will have to press your bearings out of old ones and into the new ones

Sorry to hijack Dean :)

Cheers for this info lads i need wheel bearings and dog bone done - should be a little cheaper than i thought!

Anyone know what kinda labour im looking at for Gearbox mount? (i have the part)

The dog bone mount is an easy DIY thing. Two bolts to undo, replace the part job done.

I have done one on mine and it is easy..

The one on the passenger side not the one on the back of the gearbox ?

If so I had a quick look this weekend and this is fairly easy to do.. I snapped mine a few weeks back and havent had time to do this but I am doing it this weekend. About an hours job it that.

The Mount is the rubber dougnut that is fixed on the top on the whole assembly £36 inc vat from renault. Then there is a pin that goes through the middle (The bit I snapped whilst driving) £17 inc vat from renault.

To replace this all you have to do it support the engine either with a jack from underneath or an engine host from above, then remove the battery for easy access, then there are 3 bolts to undo.

1 is the pin that goes throught the mounting

The other 2 are the mount bolts themselves.

Then lower the engine slightly to remove the mounting.

Again fairly easy to do if you are handy with a spanner.

hmm its the pin/bolt that snapped - i hope thats included in what ive bought from weight!

Ill leave that one to the garage I think - might nick the battery out and take a look but im sure it would be a farce if i tried

If it is the pin snapped I wouldnt get a used one as it is a stress point.

There are 4 parts to the gearbox mounting.

1. The lower bracket.

2. The upper bracket.

3. The connection pin

4. The rubber mount itself.

If the pin has snapped then may have to dill out the old bolt from the lower bracket.

yeah thats what I was thinking - has sheared completely - not too sure how far down it snapped. Its deffo going to the garage for the job anyway! will do the dogbone myself tho thanks to your "expert instructions" :)

im not sure which mount has gone but, the gear stick rocks back wards when accelerating?

is that the gearbox mount, also front passenger bearing

Front wheel bearings will typically cost £80+ per side for the part to be fitted properly with a Renault tool. Unless its done properly, the bearing will last 10,000 miles - maybe less. I speak from experience!

It will be the "dog bone" mount for sure if the gearstick rocks, but then its fairly common to have a bit of movement anyway.

Why shouldnt you change only one wheel bearing? If theres only one faulty one theres no need to replace the other side surely??

  Corsa 1.3 CDTI

If for example you change one side there is a good possibility that the other side is as worn as well.

Its better to prevent than to cure IMHO.

You know when a wheel bearing is on its way out tho - that bloody awful moan it makes lol. I had one go last year and replaced - the other is fine 12 months on :)

right so its the dog and bone mount then,

where can i order the part and how much, il also want to order a passenger front wheel bearing?
