printer help

I have not used my printer for about 2 months as it has been low on colour ink and would not print anything (before the ink ran out I brought a compatable black with chip and it printed fine).
so I have spent £30 on genuine epson ink put the 3 colours in and now it will not print at all goes through all the motions pulls paper in print head goes accross but no ink.
I cleaned the printhead twice now as I thought it may be blocked and but it has done nothing except use a load of ink but still will not print on paper, I have even put all genuine cartrages in now so I can't blame the none genuine black.
anybody got any ideas of what to do, I don't want to keep cleaning the head as I will have no ink left at all.

probably not alot of help,
but with my previous (old) epson printers, if i didn't use them for quite a while then the print heads block up beyond use.
no amount of cleaning would sort it, and as you have found.. it uses a shed load of ink to do.
I think you can get some cleaning solution type stuff to run through it??
i ended up buying an HP printer, the jets are built into the ink cartridge rather than it being a 'part' of the printer. So if they ever block badly a new cartridge would fix it. touch wood it's been fine..

also, i've never had a problem using 'compatible' ink, my epson probs were that i never used it enough.

the problem i always had was , with compatible cartridges they worked find first but then if i didnt print owt in a week or so it would need cleaning some times twice. but with original cartridges i never needed toi do this. but i dont print alot so for me original ones are worth it. this sets been in a year now n most arnt bellow 25%

cleaned the head another twice and it has started working now (not purfect but working) and I now have half full ink cartridges so it's cost me about £15 to get it working
