Private plates

If you change your number plate to a private registration, do you have to contact your insurance even if its been sorted through the dvla and would it increase my premium?

yeah u need to tell yr insurance company...it will not increase yr premium as it is just a simple administration thing...but u do need to tell insurance company otherwise if in accident the wrong plate will be recorded and could void the insurance

yup, tell the insurance.

there's usually a £25 admin fee to pay them to tap a few keys on their computer.

You will also get a new policy sent to you

admin fee for mine was £14 and the got it wrong sent me documents with E13X DO instead of A13X DO rang up and they tried to charge me £20....made a fuss and did it for free though

Elephant charged me a tenner for replacement doccuments. Daylight robbery!! tell your insurance as soon as you get your paperwork through.

it WILL NOT increase your premium, unless of course your plates add and extra 50BHP!!! :approve: :approve:
