Problem taking old grille out

Cant seem to take out the horrible 1.2 grille out of my car. Followed this video But still cant get it out. Should I just remove the bumper?

Lift bonnet up, unclip pins from top of grille, smack the front of the grille towards the back of the car really hard with the palm of your hand. It comes out.
