Problem with adjustable ARB

  CLIO PH1 172
I'm going to check my brackets now, iv only just seen this thread, but like most have said I'm over the moon with the product. Will the brackets be powder coated again if they were in the first place ?

I did put my name down to start off with, but then I tought why am I going to pay more for one thats been made by some dudes rather than from a well know company like whitline who oviousely now what there doing...

I think that's a bit of a naive comment tbh..

There are a hell of a lot of "dudes" out there that make very high qualiy engineering that just because they dont have a worldwide brand doesn't make them not good!

As a bit of an update, on Tuesday Dave, the engineer who made the bars, emailed me to say he was drawing up a revised design.

New ones will be made from thicker plate and include a larger gusset.

He expects to dispatch them FOC to whoever needs them within 2 weeks :)

Thanks for that Mike!

It's been a nightmare for me without internet! I can read the forum on my phone, but I can't reply.. I'm sure it's been just as frustrating for you all too!
As Mike has said, the stronger mounts will be sent out free to everyone who wants them, there's not a time limit on this either. So if you decide you're happy with the old mounts and then change your mind, that's not a problem.
As soon as the mounts are ready I'll post the email for the engineers in this thread for everyone to send their address.

Again, if anyone wants to get hold of me in a hurry, use my mobile above and i'll get back to you asap!

Due to the bent bracket I think the purple bushes have been crushed a bit. Is this a problem? Where can I get some more?

Thanks

Right!

I've actually got a proper update at last!

The new brackets are being powdercoated now and are due back on Friday, I'm aiming to get the couriers booked for everyone on monday which means things should arrive wednesday!

Scary, the bushes are from superflex, but if you need some new ones, I'll order them for you and pay for them. I'm not sure if it's a problem or not, but look at them and tell me if you want new ones.

Anyone needing new brackets should email their details to the engineers at gallop.dave@googlemail.com
I've still got dodgy internet so it'll be the quickest way to arrange things. Anyone wanting me specifically, my mobile is still the most reliable way.

Jenic and Tigger, Dave already has your adresses and will send the brackets straight to you both.

Thanks Doug, I've emailed Dave with my details.

I'll let you know about the bushes once I fit the new brackets. They look properly squashed though but perhaps they'll be ok.

How much are they out of interest?

New brackets are here, and they look much better:

When I first saw this thread I wondered if the problem was poorly fitted bars as mine has been fitted and working great for ages with no bracket problems.
Then on Easter Sunday I adjusted the droplinks so the bar wasn't hanging so low and within 3 days the offside bracket was bent just like these which suggests that the length of the droplinks and/or the angle of the bar in relation to the suspension arm massively increases the force on the bracket.
What puzzles me though is why is it that it's only the offside brackets that are affected?

  Corsa Van. Meh.
^ Looking at both them pics the only difference I can see if that Scary has cut his spacer bar down to give more clearance. I did the same. Stops it hanging down so much.
