Problem with NEF in Photoshop

I'm trying to open a raw (.NEF) file from my D40x in Photoshop CS2 and it comes up with this message:

"Could not complete your request because it is not the right kind of document."


I thought that Photoshop could open these files:S

Sure I had this, think you may need a plugin for photoshop iirc

Need to update a file, you can download it from the Adobe website I think, afraid I've not got the links to hand...
