problems fitting phase 2 rear lights

ok i bought some phase 2 rear lights yesterday to put on my phase 1 clio they were brand new in the wrapping.But theres a problem, i indicate to turn left or right and it flashes ok inside and outside the car but when i press the brake pedal both indicator lights light up static and it stops flashing outside. as soon as i take my foot off the brake it works fine again. Now i know its not the car as i re fitted my old lights and they work fine.

are phase 2 rear lights a direct replacement for phase 1 lights or are other things needed . both the plugs and sockets they go in seem exactly the same.

or could this just be a faulty set of lights,

Different iirc. There is a guide on how to change them ( sticky at the top of the guide forum, fubar.net )

flamin hell i cantsee that im not a member yet havin problem with paypal. so the light are ok wont need to take them back

Mate it's £10 or summin for the membership. It's worth it for the guides alone + the welcome pack.

Otherwise just trial and error with the wire changing. There's not that many it won't be too hard

Lights are ok, it's just the wires need swaping

ive wired the lights up following the link put up by marine and this is how there working now

as you can see somethings not right
they are wired exactly the same at the pick

there was a few differances between the colours on the link and the colours on my car
my car dosnt have pink wires but a creamy yellow colour
and the left hand light has 2 blues going into 1 connector and 2 oranges going into 1 connector

I DONT KNOW IF IT MAKES A DIFFERANCE BUT I CUT THE PLUG OFF AND PUT WIRES TOGETHER USING INSULATION TAPE

sorted :rasp: thank god for that . joined up and saw the thread on how to do it. so wired everything back together and switched the connectors around as described and done. thanks alot for your help
