hi all first post round here and i guess its a topic well covered but my need is great as i have to get the car back on the road
basically my Sreg clios central locking was goosed from when SWMBOs mum had the car and being tight she didnt get the remote sensor etc fixed. since then (for years) insled of using the fob and remote locking the keys have been used. now both of the barrels in the locks are done it and just turn.
in an attempt to fix this i got hold of an after market cental locking kit that i tried to wire in today. all i suceeded in doing is blowng a fuse. (the 20A central locking on) so i replaced this. what would happen is the relays in the new box and the existing relays i think just interacted and overroad each other so i took them out, connected the battery again and this time nothing happened ......
untill i pressed the fob at which point the alarm started some sort of countdown chirp chirp chirp then went off in its full glory.
So i whipped off the -ve battery and it shut up. (supprisingly) ive removed the wiring that i hooked into the loom for the new box and replaced the relays but as soon as the battery is connected it starts the alarm.
What can i do to:
1. shut the alarm up?
2. just at least be able to start the car, we've been using it and not locking it for a while so i dont care.
3. fix the damn locking system if at all poss.
tbh guys and gals just be able to start the car would be better than anything i couldnt care less about it being unlocked
