product for old paint

is there any particular products i should be using on old paint?

its very swirly but the paint its self is fine, just needs a good buff

Same products/process as you would use on on your Clio paint is fine.

Depending on the colour of the old car paint it may be single stage so be prepared for some paint transfer on pads and cloths.

What year is it again?
When I did the bonnet of the Landy there was some paint transfer to the pad, thats a 1991, definatly single stage paint, VAG paint is quite tough, my 1990 Polo's was anyway.

Nothing to worry about I don't think just means you will get abit of paint on the applicator pad.

its a very dark metallic blue with like a gold fleck

As it is metallic it will be lacquered just like you clio.

Dont know if that would have actually ever improved lol! Needed something a bit stronger than IP

It didn't take the swirls out but it took the 'bloom' off and gave it a good shine which was all I was after really it was abit faded. I forgot you did those 50/50's you can pm me them if you like.

You will probably find the quality of paint is better than the waterbased s**t they use nowadays.
