Clio MK1 1.2
Project Uni Build - 1.2 Track Toy Soon to be 172'd
Hi all!
This Is my car
Now I have run this for my first year covered 30,000 and went on track with it (most of the time on 3 wheels) After this year I have fallen in love with it, Now as it has stripes, scratches and cable tied bumpers it isn't even worth any money anymore and I'm too in love with it just to see it scraped
As my insurance is nearly up and I can't afford another year + I will be heading off to Uni my car will be just sat on my driveway not being driven however I will still be able to trailer it to trackdays instead of getting insured on it
I have only decided I was going to do this today after viewing this video and f0xy's thread on here...

It took me like a day to read through all this but this Is what I will be going for a 172'd MK1 purely built for track... And I wild just like to say kudos to f0xy for building such a magnificent machine.
Mine is a 1.2 RN so it may not take to this 172 engine very nicely. a lot of modifications will have to be made to the brakes suspension etc. But I will take tips from f0xy's thread and other people I know, I would appriciate any advice you have to give.
Now first off I won't be putting in the 172 lump just yet, I want to sort the car itself sorted out first.
Plans for the bodywork:-
Phase 1 bumpers and sidestrips
Valver wings and bonnet (Will this fit will phase3 lights? Or can i change the lights?)
Weld sunroof
filler dents and spray MATT BLACK then finish off with a matt orange racing stripe down the middle (sorry but I love racing stripes )
Perspex windows
Plans for interior
Strip Everything! Bootfloor carpets, doorcards and that yucky soundproof stuff
Remove dash, bar the top dash and get some more dials.
OMP Wheel
Bucket seats and harneses
Matt black inside with an interior strip running through the middle for the lolz
Cage
I will run it as a 1.2 for a while until I can afford to 172 it, I will still go out on track in the 1.2 because it still is fun just a bit slow
And I Will be building this whilst I am at Uni so don't expect it to be quick! Hopefully finished the interior and exterior by the end of this year... Then 172 BABY!
